VALÈNCIA SPAIN
I went on my first solo trip outside of the country to Valencia Spain and here's some of my tips. First, I believe traveling is the biggest teacher, so if you have to opportunity to do so I highly recommend. When deciding on location, I knew I wanted to go somewhere I was a little familiar with since I was traveling alone; at least for the first time, so I decided on Valencia. I've been to Europe multiple times so it's familiar to me; but now I feel like a pro so I want to go even further lol. The next priority for me was making sure I felt safe in the area that I would be staying. I opted for an Airbnb that was in a vicinity that was walkable. Which brings me to my next tip; when deciding on where to stay I knew I wanted a location that was walkable to the center of the city but also far enough that I didn't have to always be in the mix. I walked so much and really enjoyed it, The beauty of walking is you get to explore and see things you might not come across if you were driving. There were so many times I set out to go one place and ended up finding another. In terms of food I opted to cook as well as eat out since I was there for an extended amount of time. I enjoy cooking so it wasn't an issue for me. My last tip would be to stay open minded, when traveling to another country you have to recognize that there are cultural differences and there's not one way to do things. So remember: Choose a safe, walkable location central to the town/city, explore, and keep an open mind.
